924 Children Impacted and Counting: Our Next Big Step for West Africa
As October comes to a close, we often ask ourselves what happens when a month of intense health awareness finally ends.
The truth is that our commitment to youth health, hygiene, and education continues every single day.
October Health Month has been an incredible journey of awareness covering four vital pillars of youth protection. In the first week, we tackled drug abuse awareness, giving youth the facts they need to resist peer pressure. In the second week, we led breast cancer awareness during Pink Week, teaching early detection and self-examination. In the third week, we focused on child mental health and depression, breaking the stigma and providing safe spaces. In the final week, we championed girls' hygiene and period poverty, empowering young girls with sanitary products and dignity.
Health awareness is never just a one-time event, it is a lifelong commitment. True impact comes from sustaining these healthy habits throughout the year, continuing to educate our children, supplying hygiene products to girls, and supporting mental health in our communities every single month.
This comprehensive approach reflects our deep dedication to holistic youth development and healthcare access across West Africa.
Looking back at what we achieved together during this powerful month of advocacy, we are filled with profound gratitude. Because of your shares, financial contributions, physical donations, and volunteer support, we reached incredible milestones.
Looking at our impact tracker, we successfully reached 924 children across locations including Abuja, Abia, Osun, Ogun, and Nasarawa. We also mobilized 3,000 units of water distributed to orphan communities and secured crucial hygiene and learning kits for our upcoming mission.
Today, we celebrate our donors, corporate partners, volunteers, and supporters in our October Roll of Honor. To everyone who donated funds, shipped sanitary pads, soaps, toothpastes, and exercise books to our Yaba office, shared our content, or signed up to travel with us, thank you.
Your selflessness and commitment to child welfare are changing the world, one child at a time. You are the real heroes behind the Linda Dominguez Foundation.
As October ends, however, our main mission is only just getting started.
We are officially launching our November campaign, shifting our focus fully to hygiene sensitization, vital water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives, and our cross-border mission.
From November 20 to 22, our team will be on the ground in Benin Republic to deliver essential support to children, teenage girls, parents, and educators.
During this mission, we will pad a girl, distribute health resources and stationery kits, supply soaps and toothpastes, and promote clean water and proper hygiene education to transform hundreds of young lives.
We invite you to carry this momentum into November with us. Whether as a donor, sponsor, volunteer, or traveler, your support helps us turn awareness into actionable impact.
Join the November Benin Mission today. You can donate online, register as a volunteer or traveler by sending a direct message to +234810 003 7315 or emailing info@lindadominguezfoundation.org, or drop off physical supplies at MJS House, 2nd Floor, 366 Murtala Muhammed Way, Yaba, Lagos.
