OGUN STATE OUTREACH: 120 CHILDREN REACHED THROUGH HYGIENE EDUCATION at Livery International School, Ota, Ogun State

120 CHILDREN REACHED. 45 GIRLS EMPOWERED WITH MENSTRUAL HYGIENE EDUCATION. ONE MISSION: DIGNITY.

Every child deserves to understand how to care for their body. Every girl deserves to approach menstruation with knowledge, confidence, and dignity.

Through the SMILE Mission, the Linda Dominguez Foundation brought hygiene education to Livery International School in Ota, Ogun State, reaching 120 children and providing a dedicated menstrual hygiene sensitisation session for 45 girls.

This was more than a classroom lesson. It was an opportunity to build awareness, encourage healthy habits, and create a safe space for girls to learn about their changing bodies.

THE IMPACT IN NUMBERS

120 CHILDREN REACHED

Students received general hygiene education to help them understand the importance of cleanliness, personal care, and healthy daily habits.

45 GIRLS SENSITISED

A focused session addressed menstrual hygiene, body care, and self-confidence, helping girls better understand how to care for themselves during menstruation.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM: LESSONS THAT BUILD CONFIDENCE

Our hygiene sensitisation focused on two important areas:

General Hygiene Education: Helping children understand the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene as part of protecting their health and wellbeing.

Menstrual Hygiene Education: Giving girls the opportunity to learn about menstruation, body care, and the importance of managing their periods safely and confidently, without shame.

When girls have access to accurate information, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their bodies. Menstrual health education also helps challenge stigma and encourages open, respectful conversations.

A SPECIAL LEADER, A MOTHERLY TOUCH

This outreach was led by Madam Christy, mother of our Founder, Linda Dominguez

Accompanied by a friend, she visited Livery International School and connected with the girls through a warm, personal approach. Her session created space for a mother-to-daughter, woman-to-woman conversation about menstruation, personal hygiene, and self-confidence.

Sometimes, a girl needs more than information from a textbook. She needs a trusted woman who can listen, explain, reassure, and help her understand that her body is nothing to be ashamed of.

We deeply appreciate Madam Christy's time, compassion, and commitment to helping the next generation of girls grow with knowledge and confidence.

WHY THIS MISSION MATTERS

Menstrual hygiene education is an essential part of health literacy. When girls understand their bodies, they can approach menstruation with greater confidence, recognise when they need help, and make informed choices about their health.

At the Linda Dominguez Foundation, we believe education must extend beyond reading and writing. It must also equip children with practical knowledge that supports their health, dignity, and everyday lives.

Through our SMILE Mission, we remain committed to transforming futures through compassion, education, and innovation.

Linda Dominguez🗣️ A girl who understands her body is better equipped to care for herself with confidence. Let us replace silence with knowledge, shame with dignity, and uncertainty with education.

We came. We taught. We impacted.

This is LDF. Impact over noise.
